Bartlett Yancey and North Moore are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Buccaneers will venture away from home to challenge the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bartlett Yancey has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while North Moore will arrive with four straight victories.

Bartlett Yancey is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Southeast Alamance on Wednesday. They lost 17-2 to the Stallions.

Savana Gibbs made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, North Moore hadn't done well against Jordan-Matthews recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Jets. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since April 29, 2024.

Sydney Russell made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Russell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Calissa Clendenin was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Bartlett Yancey's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for North Moore, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Bartlett Yancey might still be hurting after the 17-1 defeat they got from North Moore in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Buccaneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
