Softball Recap: Ocean Lakes Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Ocean Lakes's offense. They fell just short of the Salem Sundevils by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Dolphins were not able to get on the board.

Ocean Lakes saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Patterson, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Ocean Lakes' defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Salem, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Ocean Lakes will face off against Landstown at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Salem, they will challenge Cox at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Sundevils' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
