Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Lily Nelson and Camryn Collier Lead Hazel Green to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Guntersville, Hazel Green was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Grissom Tigers by a score of 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Hazel Green was led to victory by Camryn Collier and Lily Nelson. Collier had ten digs and four assists, while Nelson had six aces and three digs. Nelson is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season. Madelyn Baeder also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Hazel Green was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last six contests.

Hazel Green's victory bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Grissom, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Hazel Green didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Huntsville on the 18th. As for Grissom, they will take on Sparkman at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
