Basketball Game Preview: Nova Titans vs. Western Wildcats

The Nova Titans will challenge the Western Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Nova has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Western will arrive with four straight victories.

Last Thursday, Nova came up short against Boyd Anderson and fell 61-54. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Cobras are ranked 112th).

Meanwhile, Western really took it to McArthur for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-46 win. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.

Western's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 19.4 points. As for Nova, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Nova took a serious blow against Western in their previous matchup back in January of 2019, falling 74-46. Can Nova avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
