Basketball Recap: Ailie Stegall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eustace over Grand Saline

Eustace was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 44-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grand Saline Indians. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 44-34 back in December of 2024.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ailie Stegall, who posted 11 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Stegall has posted since back in November of 2024. Paige Quigg was another key player, putting up seven points and six steals.

Eustace's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Grand Saline, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-15 record.

Eustace will square off against Quitman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Quitman will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Eustace surely won't give up without a fight. As for Grand Saline, they will take on Mineola at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
