Football Game Preview: West Scranton Invaders vs. Lakeland Chiefs

The West Scranton Invaders will face off against the Lakeland Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Scranton has given up an average of 31.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, West Scranton was beaten by Dunmore 42-7. The Invaders have struggled against the Bucks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Lakeland had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 40-14 win. The result was nothing new for the Chiefs, who have now won five contests by 25 points or more so far this season.

Lakeland's win came from a few key players West Scranton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was David Naniewicz, who rushed for 43 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 178 yards and one touchdown while completing 80% of his passes. Rocco Spataro was another key player, gaining 155 total yards.

Lakeland's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for West Scranton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
