Basketball Recap: Vinny Hendrix and Akira Hori Secure Win for Kankakee Trinity Academy

Kankakee Trinity Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They secured a 49-43 W over Columbia County Christian.

Kankakee Trinity Academy was led to victory by Akira Hori and Vinny Hendrix. Hori shot 47% from the field en route to 24 points and three steals, while Hendrix posted 16 points and eight rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Columbia County Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Pierce Cughan went 9-for-22 to rack up 24 points and eight boards. The contest was Cughan's 20th in a row with at least 15 points. Eli Lenker was another key player, putting up ten points.

Kankakee Trinity Academy's victory bumped their record up to 23-11. As for Columbia County Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 25-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Kankakee Trinity Academy nor Columbia County Christian have any future games scheduled.
