Football Recap: Maconaquah Comes Up Short

Maconaquah came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Rochester Zebras and fell 48-6. The contest marked the Braves' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Aiden Robinson threw for 86 yards on 13 of 23 attempts. Nolan Tarrh was his top target, picking up 68 receiving yards. On the ground, Marcell Sims rushed for 42 yards and one score.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rochester to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zakkary Parks, who rushed for 52 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. Those 52 rushing yards gave Parks a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kale Shotts, who rushed for 80 yards and a pair of TDs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Maconaquah fell to 8-1. As for Rochester, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Maconaquah will square off against Twin Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rochester, they will take on Elwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
