Volleyball Recap: Carver Comes Up Short

Carver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat last Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-1, 25-9, 25-0.

Lyndsey Smithers was a one-woman wrecking crew For Bartlett Yancey. as she had 15 aces and 13 assists. Those 15 aces gave Smithers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kara Badstein, who hit 83.3% for ten kills and 14 aces.

Carver's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Bartlett Yancey, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Carver does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bartlett Yancey, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Walkertown on the 14th.
