Gavin Black Delivers Best Effort of Season

Gavin Black produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Permian to the win on Friday. Black's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 177 rushing yards. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 63 yards.

The win for Permian keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Panthers faces off against San Angelo Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Chase Campbell Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Frenship was led to victory by Chase Campbell, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Campbell picked up 68 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 58 yards.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Frenship, bringing their record for this year to 5-1. Campbell and Frenship are taking a road trip to challenge Midland Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Another Game with at Least 122 Rushing Yards from Elijah Mccoy

Elijah McCoy continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his sixth-straight game with at least 122 rushing yards. He rushed for 215 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry.

With the loss, Midland broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2. McCoy and Midland will venture away from home to face off against Odessa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Stroman Bridges' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Midland over Frenship

Keeping McCoy company is Stroman Bridges, a fellow Midland player. He rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 31 yards and a touchdown.

Unfortunately for Frenship, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Bridges. Bridges rushed for 209 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries the last time he and the Tigers duked it out back in October of 2023.

Aiden Serrano Rounds Out Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Aiden Serrano of Midland Legacy. Serrano picked up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.

For the season, Serrano has caught 8 touchdowns while averaging 93.5 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had five receiving touchdowns.
