Softball Recap: Trumbull Drops Season-High Score on Stamford

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Trumbull). They never let the Stamford Black Knights get on the board and left with a 17-0 win on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Trumbull is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Stamford, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Trumbull is set to take on their familiar foe Norwalk at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Eagles 2.8, the Bears 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Stamford will square off against rival Greenwich at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
