Baseball Recap: Colfax Victorious

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Colfax nor Cle Elum-Roslyn made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Bulldogs skirted past the Warriors 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Zach Kroll spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Colfax's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ross Cofer, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Colfax's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Cle Elum-Roslyn, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colfax will venture away from home to challenge Freeman at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cle Elum-Roslyn, they will head out to face off against River View at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
