Gloucester County Christian had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 6-5 to make it four. They fell just short of the Atlantic Christian Cougars by a score of 5-4. Surprisingly, this marked the Conquerors' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
JD Greenwood was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Greenwood wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David Dellarova, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Dellarova has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.
As for Atlantic Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three runs across that stretch.
On Atlantic Christian's side, Luke Odell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Seth Phillips, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Atlantic Christian is undefeated when Phillips posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of James Papanikolaou, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Gloucester County Christian will face off against King's Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Atlantic Christian, they will square off against Pleasantville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
