Two dominant backs in Leomar Brown and Prince Wratto are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Exeter Township Eagles will be playing at home against the Elizabethtown Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Exeter Township's defense has only allowed 11.2 points per game this season, so Elizabethtown's offense will have their work cut out for them.
Exeter Township is headed into Friday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 21-17 heartbreaker at the hands of Conestoga Valley. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Even if they lost, Exeter Township's defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. Joel Ummarino was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three himself.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Elizabethtown, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down Governor Mifflin 34-16 on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their seven-point performance the contest before.
Exeter Township better keep an eye on Trent Kauffman. He was instrumental in Elizabethtown's win, throwing for 201 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 36 yards and one TD. That's the most passing yards Kauffman has posted since back in August. 107 of Kauffman's passing yards were hauled in by Kyle Capello.
Elizabethtown now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Exeter Township, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Exeter Township has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 275.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Elizabethtown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 189.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
