Basketball Recap: Springer's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Springer won the last time they faced Maysville, and Sammy Gardner did his part to make sure it happened again. The Springer Cardinals blew past the Maysville Warriors 56-26 on Friday thanks in part to Gardner, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Springer's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Darian Roberts, who posted two points in addition to nine boards, five assists, and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

The win made it two in a row for Springer and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for Maysville, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.

Springer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 62-25 victory against Temple on the 25th. As for Maysville, they will head out on the road to take on Ninnekah at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
