Softball Recap: Sparkman Comes Up Short

The Sparkman Senators didn't have quite enough to beat the Colbert County Indians on Saturday and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Senators have lost by just one run.

Kennedy Hardin made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Sparkman and nudges their season record down to 16-13. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Colbert County, they pushed their record up to 34-6 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Sparkman didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-7 win against East Limestone on the 20th. As for Colbert County, they have also already played their next matchup, a 1-0 defeat against McNairy Central on the 18th.
