Basketball Recap: Miranda Glenn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grace Christian Academy over Donovan/St. Anne

Grace Christian Academy and Donovan/St. Anne squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Grace Christian Academy had to settle for second. They took a 59-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Donovan/St. Anne. The Crusaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Donovan/St. Anne earlier this season, when they won 36-33.

Grace Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Miranda Glenn, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and six blocks. Thanks to that strong game, she now owns an excellent 45.3% shooting accuracy. Kaitlyn Jorgensen was another key player, going 8-for-15 to rack up 19 points.

Donovan/St. Anne was led to victory by Chloe Ponton and Lily Fox. Ponton went 6-for-15 en route to 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Fox dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. Fox continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bailey Henneike, who had eight points and four steals.

Grace Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-22 record this season. As for Donovan/St. Anne, the victory got them back to even at 14-14.

Grace Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Donovan/St. Anne, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-28 defeat against Dwight on the 17th.
