Basketball Recap: Nicholas County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Philip Barbour last Friday, Nicholas County came back down to earth. The Nicholas County Grizzlies lost 57-33 to the Sissonville Indians on Wednesday. The Grizzlies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-11.

Kynadee Britton was a one-woman wrecking crew for Sissonville as she went 13 of 26 on her way to 35 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points Britton has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Makaela Ullman, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Nicholas County now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Sissonville, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Nicholas County will take on Ritchie County at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sissonville, they will venture away from home to square off against Robert C. Byrd at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday.
