Basketball Game Preview: Deering Rams vs. Massabesic Mustangs

The Deering Rams will challenge the Massabesic Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Deering's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Massabesic has been banged up by 14 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

On Tuesday, Deering was able to grind out a solid victory over Bonny Eagle, taking the game 52-44.

Meanwhile, Massabesic was beaten by Kennebunk 67-24 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Rams are ranked 31st).

Deering's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9. As for Massabesic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Deering beat Massabesic 47-35 when the teams last played back in January of 2019. Does Deering have another victory up their sleeve, or will Massabesic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
