Softball Game Preview: Glasgow Scotties vs. Butler County Bears

The Glasgow Scotties will head out to face off against the Butler County Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glasgow hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

On Monday, Glasgow came up short against Logan County and fell 4-1. That's two games in a row now that the Scotties have lost by exactly three runs.

Kerigan Hagan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Glasgow saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jakylie Green, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Meanwhile, Butler County never let their opponents score on Saturday. They came out on top against Hopkins County Central by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Bears needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

The victory snapped Butler County's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-9 record. As for Glasgow, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Glasgow might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Butler County in their previous meeting back in May of 2015. Can the Scotties avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
