Pope John Paul II waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Belle Chasse Cardinals with a sharp 10-0 win. The Jaguars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Blaze Rodriguez was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Andrew Hoff, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Pope John Paul II's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Belle Chasse, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-9.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Pope John Paul II Jaguars face off against Dunham Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belle Chasse, they will venture away from home to challenge Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Belle Chasse their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
