Softball Recap: Central Triumphs

Central won the last time they faced Corvallis and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 17-13.

Central got a massive performance out of Emery Lushenko, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Lushenko a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Beasly, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 7-3 when they post 11 or more hits.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Corvallis, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-17.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Central is set to take on their familiar foe West Albany at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Corvallis will square off against rival McKay at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
