Softball Recap: Big Valley Christian Find Success

The Big Valley Christian Lions were able to grind out a solid win over the Calaveras Red Hawks on Friday, taking the game 5-2.

Madyx Mitchell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Morgan Merzon, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Big Valley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for Calaveras, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Red Hawks beat Big Valley Christian by a score of 11-1 on Monday.
