Recap: Jones Trojans vs. Orange Grove Bulldogs
A well-balanced attack led the Jones Trojans over the Orange Grove Bulldogs in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Jones blew Orange Grove out of the water with a 63-26 final score. Given Jones' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 424th, while Orange Grove is ranked 1179th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jones' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was CeeCee Dembo, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dembo has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Abby Del Bosque, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Jones is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season. As for Orange Grove, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
Jones will be playing in front of their home fans against Sinton at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Orange Grove, they will head out on the road to challenge Ingleside at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
