Valley has won three straight games at home, while Platte Valley has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Vikings will be taking part in a tournament against the Broncos at 12:15 p.m. Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Valley beat Wiggins 5-1.
Carson Adolf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Renken, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Valley is undefeated when Renken posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Platte Valley earned a 9-5 win over Jefferson Academy on Friday.
Hudson Flummerfelt made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Mason Hunt and Jeremiah Molinar did most of the damage at the plate: Hunt went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Molinar scored two runs while going 1-for-2. That triple marked the first that Hunt hit this season. Nick Silvas was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Platte Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive games.
Valley now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Platte Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Valley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. However, it's not like Platte Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Valley suffered a grim 15-7 defeat to Platte Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
