Basketball Game Preview: Eureka Tornadoes vs. Herington Railroaders

The Eureka Tornadoes will take on the Herington Railroaders in a tournament on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eureka has five straight victories, Herington has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Monday, Eureka really took it to Erie for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-26 win. The Tornadoes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Herington lost to Lyndon on the road by a 52-37 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Railroaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Tigers are ranked 97th).

Eureka pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.7 points. As for Herington, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
