Volleyball Recap: Currituck County's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Currituck County barely beat Martin County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Gators on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-8, 25-10.

Currituck County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddie Schuster, who had six digs and five aces. Schuster is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served four or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Schuster wasn't the only good servers: Currituck County was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces in five consecutive contests.

The win got Currituck County back to even at 11-11. As for Martin County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Currituck County is set to take on their familiar foe Pasquotank County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Martin County will face off against rival Northeastern at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
