Preview: Bayside Marlins vs. Princess Anne Cavaliers
Bayside is 0-10 against Princess Anne since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bayside Marlins will square off against the Princess Anne Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bayside has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Princess Anne will arrive with nine straight wins.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 77-25, which was the final score in Bayside's tilt against Princess Anne on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bayside has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jessie Ware, who scored nine points along with four steals and two blocks. Ware is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Micala Poe, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Bayside struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Bayside's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Princess Anne, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with that win, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Bayside took a serious blow against Princess Anne in their previous matchup on Friday, falling 77-25. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bayside was down 43-17.
