Soccer Recap: Doherty Comes Up Short

Doherty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Rampart Rams, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Doherty can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Rampart are ranked fifth).

Doherty's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Rampart, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Doherty will square off against Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Doherty's defense better be ready for this one: Liberty have averaged an impressive 2.6 goals per game this season. As for Rampart, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pueblo West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
