Basketball Recap: Mid-Carolina Takes a Loss

Mid-Carolina was the 51-50 winner over Columbia when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Mid-Carolina Rebels fell 62-50 to the Columbia Capitals on Wednesday.

When it comes to explaining why Mid-Carolina lost, don't look at Jaquon Mckinney. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 9 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Those 19 points gave Mckinney a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Myers, who posted 11 points and seven boards.

Mid-Carolina's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Columbia, they moved to 4-15 with that win, which also ended their 11-game losing streak.

Mid-Carolina will face off against Chester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mid-Carolina is facing Chester at the right time seeing as Chester is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Columbia has already played their next game (against Clinton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
