Basketball Recap: Southwest Onslow Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Southwest Onslow won the last time they faced Kinston and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Southwest Onslow Stallions walked away with a 69-57 victory over the Kinston Vikings. The win was nothing new for the Stallions as they're now sitting on three straight.

Southwest Onslow's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rue Chapman, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 24 points along with seven boards and four steals. With that strong performance, Chapman is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Malekhi Hutchinson, who posted 19 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Southwest Onslow pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Kinston, they moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Southwest Onslow didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-40 win against South Lenoir on the 9th. As for Kinston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-44 victory against James Kenan on the 9th.
