Volleyball Game Preview: Concordia Mustangs vs. St. Cecilia Bluehawks

The Concordia Mustangs will square off against the St. Cecilia Bluehawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Concordia took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Gross Catholic. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won six in a row.

Concordia had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-12.

Meanwhile, St. Cecilia was able to grind out a solid win over Centura on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1.

St. Cecilia was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-8, 18-25, 25-20.

St. Cecilia's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Concordia, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.

Concordia was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Cecilia in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bluehawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
