Volleyball Recap: Addelyn Widmer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Buckingham Charter over Sacramento Country Day

Buckingham Charter managed to slip by Sacramento Country Day the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Knights came up short against the Cavaliers on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addelyn Widmer, who had nine kills and three blocks. Widmer has been hot, having posted seven or more kills the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Margrethe Lim, who had 20 assists and two aces.

Sacramento Country Day found their leader in sophomore Sophia Espinoza, who had 12 digs.

Buckingham Charter has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Sacramento Country Day, they moved to 8-12 with that victory, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

Buckingham Charter has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy on the 16th. As for Sacramento Country Day, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Valley Christian on the 17th.
