Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Benton). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings a 21-0 shutout on Thursday. The win was nothing new for the Bobcats as they're now sitting on five straight.

Benton pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Vinton-Shellsburg, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Benton will venture away from home to face off against Marion at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
