Basketball Recap: Campbellsville Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jalen Gribbins and Lanigan Price

Campbellsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They took a 72-55 bruising from the Taylor County Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while the Cardinals are ranked 38th).

Campbellsville's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lanigan Price, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points, and Jalen Gribbins, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Price a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Lee Colvin, who posted five points.

Campbellsville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Taylor County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
