Volleyball Recap: Callie Wall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Douglas over Tri-County RVT

It was a proper cat-fight when Douglas faced off against Tri-County RVT on Monday. The Tigers fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. The Tigers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

While Douglas ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least ten points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-19, 25-23, 21-25, 15-10.

Douglas lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Callie Wall, who had six kills and four aces. Another player making a difference was Taylor Smith, who had six kills, three digs, and two aces.

Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Tri-County RVT, their victory ended a seven-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglas will host Sutton at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Tri-County RVT, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southeastern RVT at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
