Basketball Recap: Malcolm Piles Up the Points Against Ralston

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Malcolm). They blew past the Ralston Rams, posting a 74-17 win. Given the Clippers' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Rams are ranked 268th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Malcolm found their leader in freshman Payton Dolliver, who went 9 of 12 en route to 21 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The match was Dolliver's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Laurel Johnson, who went 6 for 7 on her way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Malcolm was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ralston only posted three assists.

Andi Radji and Makayla Hargrave certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Radji posted nine points, while Hargrave scored no points.

With the victory, Malcolm broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-5. As for Ralston, they dropped their record down to 0-13 with the loss, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Malcolm has already played their next contest, a 65-36 win against Nebraska City on the 17th. As for Ralston, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wahoo at 6:00 p.m.
