Basketball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Eastern Musketeers took a blow against the Franklin Central Flashes, falling 70-22. While losing is never fun, the Musketeers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Flashes are ranked 24th).

Franklin Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Graves, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Duvall, who posted six points along with 12 rebounds and six blocks.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Franklin Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Eastern has already played their next contest, a 54-44 defeat against Scottsburg on the 28th. As for Franklin Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-45 win against Columbus North on the 28th.
