Softball Recap: Breathitt County Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Breathitt County's offense. They lost 6-0 to the Jackson County Generals on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Breathitt County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Pelfrey, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Bella Napier also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Breathitt County dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Jackson County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-8.

Coming up, Breathitt County will welcome Perry County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jackson County, they will challenge Lee County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Generals are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
