Basketball Recap: Emery Beats Juab for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Emery posted their closest win since December 13, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Juab Wasps out 74-71. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans who have now won four games in a row.

Emery got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Porter Hurdsman out in front who went 8 of 13 on his way to 25 points and three steals. Those 25 points gave Hurdsman a new career-high. Jace Frandsen was another key player, going 6 for 10 en route to 17 points and seven assists.

Several Wasps players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Park, who went 8 of 20 on his way to 22 points and eight assists. Park's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jay Rowley, who went 6 for 9 en route to 13 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

The victory got Emery back to even at 8-8. As for Juab, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.

Emery has already played their next contest, a 68-53 win against Delta on the 17th. As for Juab, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-56 victory against Carbon on the 17th.
