Baseball Recap: Port Allen Takes a Loss

Port Allen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Plaquemine Green Devils. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pelicans have suffered since February 23, 2024.

Johnny Payne made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Kaden Wolf was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Port Allen's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Plaquemine, the win got them back to even at 14-14.

Looking ahead, Port Allen will head out on the road to face off against Parkview Baptist at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkview Baptist's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Port Allen's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Plaquemine, they will square off against St. Michael at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
