Football Recap: Tellico Plains Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jasper Hamilton and Ike Hollinghead + How To Watch

If Tellico Plains was feeling good fresh off their 39-14 takedown of Harriman last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears lost to the McMinn Central Chargers on the road by a 35-21 margin on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 22-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Ike Hollinghead and Jasper Hamilton certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hollinghead threw for 137 yards and one touchdown, while Hamilton rushed for 93 yards and one TD. Hollinghead's passing game has become a key predictor of Tellico Plains' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.

Even if they lost, Tellico Plains' defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Elliott Davisson, Camdyn Davidson, and Kobe Bradley, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Bryce Mullins looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 174 yards and three touchdowns.

Tellico Plains has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for McMinn Central, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3.
