Stetson Merritt leads Troy to victory over Albany

The Troy Flying Horses's six-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Tuesday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 74-71 win from a begrudging Flying Horsessquad. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Stetson Merritt continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 37 points. The matchup was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jamil Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Troy's win bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Albany, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Troy will be home for the holidays to greet Schenectady at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Schenectady knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Troy likes a good challenge. Albany and Rome Free Academy will round out the year against one another at 4:15 p.m. on December 28th at.
