Volleyball Recap: St. Pauls Comes Up Short

St. Pauls was the 3-0 winner over Fairmont when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell 3-1 to the Golden Tornadoes on Thursday. Bulldogs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Golden Tornadoes since Thursday.

St. Pauls started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-21, 25-19, 25-16.

St. Pauls now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Fairmont, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Looking ahead, St. Pauls will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Red Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairmont, they will be playing at home against Pender at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
