Softball Game Preview: Lowry Buckaroos vs. Elko Indians

The Lowry Buckaroos will square off against the Elko Indians at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lowry 2.9, Elko 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Lowry is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Fernley, who was ranked 16th at the time (Lowry was ranked ninth). Lowry fell just short of Fernley by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The Buckaroos' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Elko earned a 10-5 victory over Spring Creek on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.

Angelina Jackson was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Adausha O'Berto, who scored two runs while going 1-for-5.

Jackson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Elko kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. Elko is a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Elko's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Lowry, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 13-4.

Lowry skirted past Elko 1-0 when the teams last played on March 1st. Does Lowry have another victory up their sleeve, or will Elko turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
