Football Recap: Santee Falcons vs. South East Jaguars
After soaring to 32 points the game before, Santee was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were dealt a 37-7 defeat at the hands of the South East Jaguars. South East found their leader in underclassman Edward Rivera, who rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. Rivera's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 120 rushing yards dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Bryce Johnson, who threw for 72 yards and two touchdowns.
Santee's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for South East, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santee will take on Venice at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Santee is facing Venice at the right time seeing as Venice is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for South East, they will venture away from home to take on Bell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South East knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 point or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Bell likes a good challenge.
