Basketball Recap: Apollo Hawks vs. Centennial Coyotes
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Willow Canyon, the Apollo Hawks were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Centennial and snuck past 73-71. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Apollo's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Acevedo, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah White, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Apollo is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.
Apollo does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Centennial also has no future games currently scheduled.
