Basketball Game Preview: Shandon Outlaws vs. Valley Christian Academy Lions

Shandon is 2-8 against Valley Christian Academy since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Shandon Outlaws are taking a road trip to face off against the Valley Christian Academy Lions at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Shandon is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They were beaten by Maricopa 54-3. The Outlaws were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-3.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Valley Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were dealt an 86-48 loss at the hands of Santa Maria. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 938th, while the Saints are ranked 420th).

Valley Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-5. As for Shandon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Shandon was dealt a bruising 54-12 defeat at the hands of Valley Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January. Can Shandon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
