Baseball Recap: Stoughton Comes Up Short

Stoughton fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Mount Horeb on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Mount Horeb by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for Stoughton in their meetings with Mount Horeb: they've now lost five in a row.

Jaxson Nielsen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Colton Schauff also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Stoughton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Mount Horeb, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.

While Stoughton had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
