Softball Recap: Leroy Greene Academy Comes Up Short

Leroy Greene Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Foresthill Wildfires, falling 17-7. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildfires from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Sophia Mahan and Irene Aceves stepped up to the plate in a big way. Mahan went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Aceves scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Mikyla Roberts was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Leroy Greene Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Foresthill, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Leroy Greene Academy will head out on the road to square off against Elite at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The game will give the Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Foresthill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Buckingham Charter at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
